Girls Camp

The bishop asked Jamie to go to girls camp. So we went up early Friday morning and stayed the night and then came home Saturday morning. They camped at Workman Creek. I had never been there before. It was so pretty. We went on the girls hike with them Friday. They hiked about 2.5 miles up to this waterfall. And then we drove up to Aztec lookout tower with Bishop and Sister Hawk Friday afternoon. The view was AMAZING.
Jamie loved these flowers. He said they looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
And we both thought these looked like popcorn trees:)
It was just a fun day and a half to get to be out in nature with Jamie without having to worry about kids.

First Tooth

Addy lost her first tooth on the 12th of May and her second one on the 24th of May. She was super excited when she lost her second one because she has now lost as many teeth as TJ.

TJ's Music Program

TJ had a music program at school on the 30th of April. He played the xylophone for one of the songs and did a great job.

Camping

We left as soon as school got out on Thursday to go camping. We went to our normal spot down by Young. Shawn and my parents were already there when we got there. Wacey showed up right after us. Cody and his family and Tommy and his family came down the next day. It was a lot colder than I thought it would be and us and the kids froze during the night but the kids had so much fun during the day. Shawn brought his four-wheelers and he has a couple of small ones that the kids can drive. All the kids loved them, but especially Emmy (I missed getting a picture of her on one). She learned how to drive one and did not want to get off.
TJ took the new fishing pole he got for his birthday and caught his first fish on Friday and then him and Ryder and Jamie went again Saturday morning and they each caught one. So he was pretty excited. We cooked up the first one he caught and let him try it. He wasn't sure about that but I don't think it was as bad as he thought it would be.
Not very far from where we camped there is a tank and we saw a herd of about 10 or 12 deer two or three times right around our camp. Rook was determined to chase this one down.
Friday we drove over to the fish hatchery. The kids always love that.

We cooked s'mores and had lots of fun with old friends...
And even made some new ones. My favorite part of the weekend was watching Cody and Rook together. Rook decided that they needed to pull the bark off this old log that was sitting there and throw it into the fire. So they would pull bark off, Rook would walk over and throw it in the fire, go back and do it again. They did this FOREVER. When they had pulled off all they could, Rook still wouldn't stop. So Cody got an ax and helped him cut off some more. We finally talked Rook into stopping for a s'more. I don't know how long they did this for, but it was a long time. Cody was so good and so patient with him. If you look at the amount of light from the first picture to the last, that is how much daylight they used.

All of my brothers try really hard with my kids. They go out of their way to play with them and help them and make them have a good time. And it made my heart happy to watch Cody and Rook play together.

Colorado River

Wyatt invited us for a weekend on the Colorado river. We ended up just going for the day but we had a great time. I got to kneeboard, Jamie got to ski, the kids got to tube and play with their cousins. The weather was perfect. It's not too hot yet, but the river is not that cold. It was a good day.
Papa took Rook out on the Kayak and Rook thought he was pretty neat stuff.
The kids got pretty good with the kayaks really quick.
Rook loved just playing in the water.
