It's a...

We're not sure yet, but we are glad he/she is on their way. This is how we told Jamie's family yesterday.
A fun picture we took at the beach, when we were still trying to decide how to tell people.
Emmy asked me the other day what we were going to name the new baby. This is how the conversation went.
Me: "I don't know. What do you think we should name it?"
Emmy: "Emmy."
Me: "But we already have an Emmy."
Emmy: "Ya, but we have 2 Jamies."
I love that girl, and especially how her brain works.

All Dressed up for Church

We had bought T.J. a new suit to go with the dresses that I made the girls. I tried forever to get a good picture of all 3 of them and never did succeed. This is the best I could do.

Easter Morning

Easter morning we started in our room and went through the Easter story with Emmy and T.J. while we were waiting for Addy to wake up. After she woke up, they got to go downstairs and find the candy and baskets that the Easter bunny had left them.

Coloring Easter Eggs

After Jamie got home Saturday afternoon, we colored our Easter eggs. The kids loved it.

Triathlon

Jamie did his first triathlon this weekend with the teachers quorum. It was in Pima. They had to swim 70 meters, bike 6 miles and run 2 miles. They started in the pool which was about 68 degrees. He said it was pretty chilly. His goal was to finish it in under an hour. His time was 56:49. He ended up 474th place out of a total of 1059 young and not so young men. Great job hun. We are proud of you!!!!

Disneyland

We left Sunday for California. Sunday evening we went to the beach. It was pretty chilly, but that wasn't stopping the kids.
Monday morning we headed to Disneyland. The plan was to go until early afternoon and then take the kids back to the hotel for a nap and then head back that evening. But the kids did so good, we just ended up staying most of the day. We got there about a quarter to 8 and left at about 7. T.J. did crash for about 30 minutes while we road the monorail but other than that they did so good.We left Addy with my parents and it was fun to just get to spend time with Emmy and T.J.
T.J.'s favorite ride was the Finding Nemo Submarine. He sat mesmerized the whole ride.
And meeting the characters was definitely Emmy's favorite. T.J. got to see Buzz Lightyear and the Madd Hatter told him that he liked his hat, so that was pretty big. Emmy just wanted to see the princesses, and her favorite is Ariel. So she was so excited to get to meet her.

Our Sunday

Jamie hates fast Sundays. I guess most of us do to some extent, but he really hates them. He was flossing his teeth yesterday morning, and he said, "This mint flavored floss is just so much better on fast Sunday. It makes you want to just sit and chew on it for a few minutes." He makes me laugh.
I was making him treats to take to one of his home teaching families and I was waiting to take them out of the oven so he had to brush Emmy's hair out while he was waiting on me. He is such a good dad.
Emmy had to say her first prayer in sharing time yesterday. We had been talking all week about what is appropriate to pray for in primary. She just stood up on the podium and said the prayer all by herself. She did a wonderful job. We were very proud of her.

Sad Day for Jamie Boy

Jamie sold his black car today. According to him, it's been a downward spiral ever since we bought the minivan:) But honestly, we have 2 people who can drive and owned 4 cars so it was time for it to go.  He had owned it for over 10 years, put almost 90,000 miles on it, including taking it over the 200,000 mark. It was the first car that he bought himself and had to take a loan out on, when he had just started as an intern with Motorola. Goodbye Blackie. Thanks for the good times.

Easter Dresses

I had decided I wasn't making Easter dresses for the girls this year. I couldn't find any material I thought was really cute and they had some super cute Easter dresses at Costco. So I just decided I would buy them. Well by the time, I decided I would buy them, I couldn't find matching ones in Emmy and Addy's sizes. So I was back to making them. They are VERY simple this year, but I finished them today so that is a nice relief.

General Conference

We struggled through general conference this year. The three kids under 4 made it difficult to get anything out of parts of it. But I loved the parts I saw. Things that were memorable to me:
1. From President Monson: We need to be in the temple, and our kids rooms should each have pictures of the temple. Emmy and Addy's room does, but T.J.'s doesn't so I need to get one in there.
2. Elder Scott's talk on marriage was amazing!!! What a sweet example of what marriage is all about.
3. Elder Robbins talk on being vs doing. To do without being is hypocrisy. To be without doing is void, as in faith without works is dead. And that we need to teach our children both. I have been struggling with my kids a little bit and I thought this whole talk was excellent.
4. That we should not refer to ourselves as Mormons. It is fine if others do so, but to us we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
5. The song the Spirit of God in the last session, was probably my favorite version of that song that I have ever heard.
5. And that we should use technology to share the gospel. Hence this blog.
