Rook's 2

I can't believe he is two. This little boy melts my heart. At two years old he LOVES CARS the movie - Lightning Mcqueen and Mater are his favorites. He also loves planes, and trains and basically anything that moves. He is already a tease and will tease Evie mercilessly. But he also loves her dearly. They are really good friends and he would be lost without her. I loves this little look he makes. He dad does the same thing with his eyebrows and it makes me smile.
We had spaghetti for dinner, and I think he liked it.
After that we opened presents. He got a cars book, little cars, a touch-n-go remote control control car, and Emmy made him a new Cars pillowcase. Every week at church we sit right in front of the bishop's wife and their son, Parker. Parker is 16 or 17 and Rook loves him. They have become good friends. So Bishop and Sister Hawk and Parker came over for his birthday and brought him Dilly Bars.
I had to include this picture because of the drool. Rook has drooled his whole life. I keep waiting for him to outgrow it and he is just starting to.
He was more concerned with Mater than he was with his cake.
I love this cute boy to death. A couple weeks ago, I had had a long day. I had gone outside and was just sitting outside thinking. While I was out there, I said a little prayer and my prayer was "please help me feel of Thy love for me today." As I went to check my kids before I went to bed that night the thought came into my head, "I gave you him." Rook is such a happy kid and he really is a blessing to me. I am so lucky to get to be his mom.

Luck o' the Irish

We were pretty boring in our St. Patrick's Day food this year. We had green pancakes and milk for breakfast and then we invited Wacey over for dinner and had cottage pie and he brought a rainbow made out of fruit and mint oreo brownies that were yummy. I painted the kids faces before school. Emmy decided she wanted a rainbow with a pot of gold which was interesting since I didn't have any orange paint and I had to wait for the layers to dry. But we made it to school on time and they turned out pretty cute.
I had bought Evie this shirt and so after she put it on I asked her if she wanted to do her hair like the girl on her shirt and she said, "But my hair's not red." I just smiled. If you ask her, she will tell you that her hair is pink. I love this cute girl.

Pi Day

When we showed up to hike with Wacey, he brought me a pie. It was March 14th, and it was actually a once in a hundred years pi day. The first 5 numbers in pi are 3.1415. So March 14, '15 only comes around once a century. It made me happy that he would remember. Wacey is such a thoughtful guy. Whoever he marries is going to be one lucky girl:)

Silly Mountain Hike

The last Saturday of spring break we hiked Silly Mountain. We promised the kids donuts on our way. The first trail we went on was relatively short and easy and I was afraid the whole mountain would be there but we kept going and it turned out to be a decent hike. It was just about perfect for the kids. Wacey came with us and we had a fun morning.

Desert Botanical Gardens

We had the kids help us decide how we were going to spend spring break. We made a chart and let everyone pick 2 activities to put on it and then we voted on them. Each person got 3 votes. We told the kids we would spend up to $150. We would for sure get to do whatever their number one choice was and then we would do as many of the other ones, in order of choice, until our money was gone. We ended up choosing dinner and a movie, butterfly wonderland, and a hike.
Since the desert botanical gardens had a butterfly exhibit and was cheaper than Butterfly Wonderland we decided to do that instead. The weather was beautiful and the butterflies definitely liked the color of Emmy's shirt.

We had a really good time, until we lost Addy. She was really scared but found someone who worked there and told them she couldn't find her mom. So we found her pretty quickly, but she was pretty upset.
