Rook's Birthday

Rook wanted a Jurassic Park cake and Addy wanted to make it. She did a fabulous job! It was a win, win for everyone.

Oakland Temple

While we were in San Francisco, I wanted to take the kids to see the Oakland Temple. It is such a cool temple and where my grandparents (Sherwood) served their mission. I can remember going as a little girl and being awestruck by it. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous in the spring. The view from the visitors center is absolutely gorgeous.

San Francisco

We were in San Francisco on Sunday and even though we had stuff planned I wanted us to go to church. We found this little chapel and the people there were SO friendly. We had people offering to take us out on their boats. They were excited to have youth there, and I felt bad we couldn't stay. But I really enjoyed being there and I'm so grateful wherever you are in the world you can find someplace to take the sacrament.
After church we had reservations to go out on a boat. It took us out underneath the Golden Gate bridge and then around Alacatraz island. It was pretty windy but we enjoyed getting out on the ocean.

Fort Point

Fort Point is an old fort at the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was built in the mid 1800's to help defend San Francisco Bay. We really enjoyed touring through it. My favorite picture of the trip was Evie jumping up on the top level of the for with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Anytime we travel, I try and take one day and do something I think the kids will really enjoy. This trip it was Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Most of the kids LOVED it. We had to convince Rook to try a couple rides. They aren't always his favorite. And we let him skip a few. Wonder Woman was the scariest and no matter what Addy tries to tell you it's not okay for your feet to be over your head:) But overall it was a fabulous day!

Yosemite

We stayed right outside Yosemite at Tenaya Lodge Thursday night and then spent Friday in Yosemite. Between Yosemite valley and Mariposa Groves we ended up hiking about 12 miles. It was too long for the kids and they thought I was trying to kill them but I loved it. It was so pretty.
