Swim Lessons

We finished our last day of swim lessons last night. The first few days were pretty rough for Emmy. The first day she spent about 5 seconds in the pool. But after some bribery (a new swimming suit for Emmy-Loo-Hoo made by Grammy and a new princess tube)
she ended up loving it.
T.J.'s class was still with a parent so he did "AWESOME" as he likes to say.

Don't Let the Door Hit You

Well our Father's Day ended with a bang. We were getting the kids ready for bed last night and Emmy was running toward a door and tripped over a toy and fell right into the corner of her bedroom door and split her head open. So about 8 last night we headed to the emergency room. Six stiches later, we got home about 1 this morning.  Towards the end she just kept saying, "It is taking a long, long time. Can we just go home?" She did so good though. The doctor said she had adults that didn't even do that good.

Mom Needs Help

Emmy and T.J. were playing outside and Jamie went to check on them. They were throwing rocks at our air conditioner so this was the converstion.

Jamie: "Don't throw rocks at the A.C. unit."
Emmy: "Can you just go back inside, I think mom needs help."

Happy Father's Day!

The first year that Jamie was a dad I asked him what he wanted for Father's Day. He said he wanted something that he could go do with the kids every year. So the first year we got tickets to the circus, last year him and Emmy went to see Sleeping Beauty at Hale Theatre and this year he got tickets to go see Toy Story 3. So we are excited to get to go. When I asked the kids what they liked to do with their dad, Emmy said play duck-duck-goose and go to the park and T.J. said play ball. Here are pictures of them with the cards they made for their dad. We hadn't had baths yet today, so they are a little rough. I love Jamie so much and am so grateful that I married a man who is such a wonderful father to my kids and who holds the priesthood and blesses my life and theirs with it.

Gold Eagle

When Jamie started his new job in November, he came in during the last phase of a project. They were bidding on a government job and everything had to be turned over to the government by the end of April. He has been working really hard, including a lot of Saturdays. Last week his company gave him the "Gold Eagle Award" for "recognition and appreciation of your above and beyond performance and contribution." He found and helped solve some pretty serious problems. There are so many things that I love about Jamie but two of them are how smart he is and how hard he works to support our family. The award also came with a bonus. So that was a fun surprise. Congrats Jamie!!!

A,B,C,D...

I have been doing "school" with Emmy and T.J. Emmy has been learning some sight words and T.J. has been learning the capital letters of the alphabet. Emmy has not been very motivated so I went to the dollar store and bought some toys to put in our toy tub and every time they pass off their sheet they get to pick something. T.J. finished learning all the letters of the alphabet on Friday. "G" was getting the best of him but he finally figured it out. So he got to pick a toy and he picked the whale. It is so unstable in the water when he tries to ride it, it is pretty funny. Great job T.J.!

Rough Day

It was one of those days today. It took me an hour to register the kids for swimming lessons online when it should have taken 5 minutes. Then I had just got all 3 of them down for their naps (at the same time -- not an easy task) when the doorbell rang twice. It was the census lady. Yes we turned in our census papers, but we are on the in-depth, half an hour survey every 3 months wagon. (If you ever get asked, don't do it. We thought we were doing our civic duty, but we are really sick of it.) And then I loaded my 3 kids up to take to Safeway and after about 30 minutes in there, telling Emmy and TJ not to touch anything 10 times, we finally make it to the check out line. I have just got my groceries unloaded and I realize I took all my debit and credit cards out when I was paying for swim lessons so I have no money. But that's okay because I have my check book so I will just write a check. But wait, my ID is in the stack of cards that my debit card was in so they won't take my check. So I load all 3 kids back up, run home, grab my card, and then back to Safeway because I was buying stuff for dinner that I needed. Needless to say, Addy didn't get her second nap of the day. But it was almost 6 so I didn't want to put her down for a nap so I decided I would just keep her up and put her to bed early tonight. I put her in her high chair with a bottle and started dinner. Poor girl...

More Water Fun

We went to Taylor last weekend. Tommy blessed their new baby girl on Sunday and did a wonderful job and then me and the kids stayed for a few days. Poppa set up the pool one day and the cousins came over to play.

San Diego

We went to San Diego last Sunday and stayed through Wednesday. Some of Jamie's family got to come with us and we had a great time. We wanted to let the kids see the temple, but it didn't quite look the same as the last time I saw it. But we got some cute pictures of them there.
We also got to go to the Mormon Batallion museum. I had been there before, but they have recently redone it and it was pretty cool. If you get a chance you should go.
And of course there was lots of beach time. We got to stay right on the beach and it was so nice. We parked our car and didn't move it for 2 days. We somehow lucked out and even got an ocean view room. It was awesome. T.J. and Addy loved the ocean. It was pretty cold and I thought they would both cry when we put them in it, but T.J. just kept giggling and Addy had a huge smile on her face the whole time she was in the water. Emmy was petrified of it. She just kept saying she was going to drown. But, then she discovered how fun it can be to find sea shells and that helped.
