Fun Morning at the Zoo

Yesterday morning we got up early and went to the zoo before Jamie had to go to work. They let members in an hour before the public and so it felt like we had the zoo to ourselves the first hour. It was a lot of fun. Addy was so intrigued with all the animals.
The cheetahs came within about 50 feet from us and she thought they were so cool.
Here her and her dad are looking at the little monkeys.
The little monkeys had ID collars on them and Emmy saw one and asked me if it was a boy or a girl. I said I don't know. She said "It's a girl, because she's wearing a necklace." Emmy's favorite thing this trip was trying to catch the peacocks. Here she is sneaking up on one.
T.J. said his favorite things were the monkeys and the lions. We were walking by the camels and the guy was putting the blanket on it so that people could go for a ride and T.J. said "it's getting dressed." This is how you get carried out when you start to throw a little fit.
It was a good way to start the morning.

We got your "r"

T.J. has been working on his lower case letters forever it seems like. The "h" and the "r" were getting the best of him. He finally learned "h" last week and today he got the "r" down. He got to pick something out of the toy box. It was this ball and catcher. It is really meant for the pool but we are a little late on that. Great job T.J!

Halloween Party

We went to Taylor over the weekend. While we were there we had a Halloween party with my family. Here are the kids in their costumes.
We had lots of food and played fun games.
One of the games we played was musical chairs. T.J. was the youngest kid that played. I didn't think he would get it, but he did and loved it. He was so competitive.
Both games him and Kaidan were the last 2 standing.
And the winner is.........
Not T.J. It totally broke his heart. Poor kid. We are going to have to work on sportsmanship.

Girls Night Out

Jamie's cousin Brittany had us over last night to make these cute pumpkin jars. The food was good, the company was good, the craft was cute, thanks Brittany!

A little bit of everything

Our Saturday mornings usually start the same. We load the kids up in the stroller and Emmy on her bike, grab any extra cash we have laying around and go for a walk around our neighborhood and catch any yardsales we come across. So last Saturday we are about 50 yards from our house and Jamie says I think there is something in my shoe. So he pulls his foot out of his shoe and sees a scorpion run back up to the toe of his shoe. GROSS! But we did get about 8 Disney movie classics for $2.25. So it ended up being a good morning for the rest of us.

Monday night we went to a park for FHE with the Espersons. Is it okay to think that your kids are the cutest things ever?

Emmy is getting really good at working the system. Yesterday morning we were doing some cleaning and she said, "Mom, will you and T.J. clean my room while I lay down?"

The Gambler

I bought Jamie Kenny Rogers tickets for his birthday. Jamie is not the biggest country fan but the tickets were only $10 and I thought it would be a fun date. So the concert was last night. We started the night with dinner at the new Mattas and then headed to the concert. Every concert I go to, it seems like, changes my opinion of the artist, for the good or bad depending on their performance. I came out of the concert a much bigger fan than when I went in. He is a great entertainer, besides being an awesome singer. He was really funny and it was a a fun relaxing evening with Jamie.

FHE Fun

After FHE tonight we decorated pumpkins. Notice even on the faces they picked out, T.J.'s were yellow and Emmy's were pink. They crack me up with their favorite colors.
I felt kind of bad that I didn't get Addy a pumpkin, so I might have to go get her one. She got her 15 month shots today and she is getting her molars in so she isn't feeling too great but she liked the rice crispy treats we had for dessert.

Saturday Chores

Jamie spent the day planting our winter lawn. He did have a little "help."

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

Jamie had to travel to Kansas for a couple of days this week for work. I am very blessed in that he doesn't travel very often so I usually am not alone at night. I knew me and the kids would all be going stir crazy by the time he got back so I tried to get us all out of the house. We went and played on the toys outside the mall, went and got new flipflops that were on clearance at Children's Place and went to the library and got new books and movies. But we were still all ready for him to come home by the time he got here. We missed you hun and are glad you're home.

Shhh!!!

Me and Addy were playing patty cakes this afternoon and T.J. walks down the stairs and says, "Mommy, can you be quiet? I'm talking on the phone."

There Ain't No Bugs On Me

Emmy has been begging me to go to Taylor so I finally took her this week. Wyatt's family was up there and she wanted to play with his daughter, Jessi. They had so much fun. They played hard for 2 days. Here they are hugging.
And riding horses.

 And playing in the water.
My dad built a tree house/fort/apartment in his back yard. It has a 2 story tower attached by a bridge to a little building that has a room with lights, electricity, etc. Anyway, Addy learned how to climb to the first level of the tower this trip. She was scaring me to death because she would climb up but then wouldn't turn around to come back down. She thought she was pretty smart.

She was a little afraid of the horses this time. I'm not sure why because she has ridden them before. She was really intrigued with them from a distance but definitely wasn't sure about riding them.
She loved jumping on the tramp though.
One day while they were playing outside, they came across one of the biggest grasshoppers I have ever seen. Aunt Dawn told them she would give them a quarter if they picked it up. I didn't think there was anyway Emmy would get close to it. But she went and got it and walked it all the way to the horse pasture. Lindsay told Raylee that she was getting shown up by a "city girl." It was a proud day for me. I am so afraid that my kids will be the "city kids." That they won't fit in when we go up there and they will always kind of be outsiders.
There aren't many pictures of T.J. I felt kind of sorry for him. The girls out number the boys 2 to 1 and T.J. was a little lost this week with so many girls.
