Addy's Date
We took Addy on her date about a week and a half ago. She wanted to eat at Chik-Fila -"The cows have no beef with that." There is a commercial on PBS that says that and the kids think it is so funny. So when they talk about Chik-Fila, it's not just Chik-Fila, it's the whole slogan.

Can you say cheese?
This picture is a little blurry, but I love it.
Addy is so different than Emmy and TJ. Emmy and TJ are both very analytical and Addy is definitely more easy going. She is just so unassuming and fun to be around that you can't help smile when you are with her. Thanks Addy for a fun date! We love you.

1st Day of Kindergarten
Today was Emmy's first day of kindergarten. She has been a little nervous and scared, but she was anxious to get there this morning.

Here she is all settled in and ready to get to work. She did really good, and didn't act scared at all.
After we dropped her off we stopped and got ICEE's. It had been a long hot morning.

Day Date
We had told each of the kids we would take them on a date with me and Jamie. We took Emmy out after her meet the teacher night, so it was TJ's turn. We knew he would pick IHOP to go and eat so we decided we would do a morning date since Jamie had to work late this week anyways. So we had a fun breakfast at IHOP. TJ, of course, ordered Mac and Cheese even though it was 8 o'clock in the morning. Jamie got some red velvet pancakes. They were heavenly. After we ate we ran a couple of errands and then went and got TJ some new shoes. It was a nice relaxing morning.
Meet the Teacher Night
Friday was Emmy's meet the teacher night for Kindergarten. She has been pretty nervous about starting kindergarten. We started the night by meeting Mrs. Abel. She was really nice. When we left Emmy said she was "cute."
After that she chose where we went to dinner. She picked Macayos. She loves that place.
Then we went to the mall to do a little school clothes shopping. As we were walking in the mall Jamie asked me if there was anywhere to get her ears pierced there. I told him yes. We had told Emmy she could get her ears pierced before school started if she wanted to. So we asked her if she was ready and she said yes. So we got them done. She did so good. She flinched a little bit, but did not cry at all. She was so excited to get them done.
The earrings made her seem so grown up to me. Me and Jamie were talking at the end of the night and we both agreed it was harder watching her get her ears pierced than meeting her teacher. She is growing up so fast. I am going to cry like a baby when she goes to school but I am also just really excited for her to begin this new phase of her life. She is so ready. We love you Emmy!!!

8 years
Friday was our 8th anniversary. It was meet the teacher night for Emmy so we went on a date with her. We are planning on getting away just the two of us in the next month or two. So it was pretty low key but I did get flowers and chocolates so what more could a girl want?
