Water Fun

Tommy's family came down to go school clothes shopping so we joined them for one last day at the aquatic center before school started again. We didn't know but it was 80's day and so the kids got in for a quarter. So it was a win-win. Evie decided she was big enough to jump off the diving board. She jumped off it over and over and over again. She thought that was so fun. It is 12 feet deep under the diving board but she would just jump and then swim over to the edge. She was so cute.

Take Your Child to Work Day

July 14th was take your child to work day at General Dynamics. All 3 of the older kids got to go. They had a really fun time with their dad. Evie, Rook and I met them for lunch and then I brought the other kids home with us so Jamie could get some work done. It must have been too close to nap time.

Addy's Six

All Addy asked for for her birthday was a new camera and a bag of her dad's popcorn. Jamie gets this cheese and caramel popcorn that he loves at Costco but he's not a very good sharer. So Addy wanted her own bag. I think she was as excited about that as anything. Emmy spent her own money and got her a Lego set and TJ got her a Hello Kitty coloring booklet with his own money. It is always humbling to me to watch my kids sacrifice for each other.
Addy decided that she wanted to go see Minions for her birthday but it didn't come out until the day after her birthday. So on her birthday we went and got an icee, painted her nails, went swimming with Uncle Wacey, and had cake. Addy didn't have a preference on her cake so I tried my first anti-gravity cake, which was fun and different.
A few days later we celebrated Addy and Zach's birthday with the Espersons at Peter Piper. Donut cakes are awesome!!!
Nana and Poppy got her a Boogie Board to take to San Diego.
Addy has so many qualities that I love. My favorite is her happy personality. She is such a happy kid and has a wonderful zest for life. I love her dearly and am so grateful she is part of our family. Happy Birthday Addy!!!

4th of July

We went to Taylor for the 4th. I am bummed that I didn't take more pictures. The oldest 3 kids ran the 2 mile race while I did the 10k. My dad and Raylee and Ryder also came and ran the 2 mile with us also which was fun. They all did so good. In the girls 9 and under Raylee won first, Emmy won second and Addy won third. TJ didn't place, but I think he should have. He ran faster than any of the girls and there were a couple of the boys who beat him who turned around before they had gotten all the way to the 1 mile mark. But he took it really well and was a good sport so I was super proud of him. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them all with their medals but I didn't. I won first in my age group and third in the overall women's category. I wasn't quite as fast as I had hoped, but it felt really good and I was happy with it. We had a cookout with my whole family one night and Shawn brought over a bunch of fireworks which was fun, especially since it had rained so much they cancelled the real fireworks the next night. It was a good weekend.
