That’ll be the day….

As we were traveling from Carlsbad to Chickasha we stopped in Lubbock to eat. (Yes they do have Texas Roadhouses in Texas). We also made short stops to see the Lubbock Temple and the Buddy Holly statue. We stayed in Chickasha Thursday night.

Carlsbad

Wednesday after we left Whites Sands we drove to Carlsbad Caverns. We made it in time to see the bats come out of the cave. They wouldn’t let us take pics so this is a pic from the web but it was amazing to watch the bats just pour out of the cave and just keep coming and coming. We left after about 20 minutes and they were still coming out.

We went back Thursday morning to go inside. It is 80 stories or approximately 750 feet down and it is as big as about 6 football fields inside. It is just so huge. It was amazing!! Pictures don’t begin to do it justice.

White Sands

We left for Nauvoo Wednesday morning about 6:30. We went through Tucson, had lunch in Las Cruces and then headed for White Sands National Park. It was a little warm but it was fun to sled on sand.

Marlin of the Week

Swim team is in full swing and Evie got Marlin of the week last week.

The almost family reunion

Our Hancock reunion was supposed to be last weekend but Shawn had to work so since we already had the lodge reserved those of us who could still went. It was Wacey, Tommy and our families as well as most of Shawn’s kids. I have never had more beautiful weather at the lodge. It rained before we got there and rained quite a bit at night while we were there so there was very little dust and the temperature was perfect. We played a lot of volleyball, did a little dancing and just enjoyed hanging out with our cousins.

Elvis

Emmy has been dying to see the new Elvis movie ever since she heard they were making one. She talked us into getting her tickets to a prerelease screening. She has been counting down the days and hours and Tuesday it finally came. We all enjoyed the movie and it was fun to spend the time with just her and Jamie.
