Emmy got invited to go to New Beginnings this year even though she technically won't be 12 until next year. Since her birthday is so close to the beginning of the year, they wanted her to come this year because they thought they wouldn't have new beginnings before her birthday next year. The theme was bloom where you are planted. They asked each of the fathers to pick a flower that reminded them of their daughter and explain to the group why it reminded them of her. Jamie picked a white and yellow orchid. He said the white orchid stood for innocence and purity and when he looked at her that's what he thought. He also said the yellow stood for friendship and a new beginning and that she was getting ready to start a new beginning by starting young womens.

Lunch Date
I have begun to realize how short my time left with Rook at home is. So I decided I was going to try and take him to the temple for a picnic once in awhile. Wednesday was our first one. It was a beautiful spring day and the flowers were gorgeous and smelled heavenly. I love this crazy boy and will miss him immensely when he starts school in a few months.
